John Newman is one of the most prominent pop vocalists globally. Although his breakthrough came following a collaboration with Rudimental on “Feel The Love,” the talented English singer-songwriter, producer, and DJ instantly captivated audiences, topped charts, and dominated airwaves worldwide with his debut single “Love Me Again” in 2013. Drawing inspiration from themes of love and romantic relationships, infused with a high dose of emotion in his lyrics set to danceable and catchy melodies, John has reached a vast audience. He writes, composes, and arranges his music and his authentic style and distinctive voice set him apart. His catalog features a long list of hits, including “Come And Get It,” “Cheating,” “Losing Sleep,” “Blame,” and “Fire In Me,” among others. The fantastic John Newman will take the stage on the second day of the Sea Star Festival at the Tesla Main Stage, ready to ignite hearts and move bodies.

John Newman was born and raised in the small English town of Settle, where his musical journey began at the tender age of 14. It was his single mother who most influenced Newman’s love for music, as he taught himself to record, produce tracks, and DJ. At 16, he moved to Leeds to further develop his sound and musical education. Newman’s music and lyrics are deeply influenced by the hardships he has faced. Not only did his father leave when he was just six years old, but he also endured the loss of two best friends in a car accident. These tragedies often found him crying and singing along to the guitar, channeling his feelings into raw and emotional music. Additionally, Newman underwent surgery for a brain tumor, a life-changing event that highlighted the importance of rest and taking breaks. Singing about love troubles, introspections, and loss, John has captured the hearts of fans who find resonance in his lyrics and fall in love with his voice, character, and work.

Newman released his debut album “Tribute” in 2013, heralded by the single “Love Me Again,” which remains one of the biggest global hits to this day. After this first album, his career skyrocketed. His second studio album, “Revolve,” was released in 2015, and after a break and a triumphant return to music, he released the EP “A.N.i.M.A.L” in 2019. In addition, this musical powerhouse has released numerous successful singles and remixes and won prestigious music awards.
