Three days before the beginning of the first major Croatian festival after a two-year break, Sea Star is putting the pedal to the floor all the way to the finish line! The legendary Onyx, the authors of the mega-hit “Slam” and the album “Bacdafucup,” widely regarded as one of the best rap releases of all time, come to the stage at the Stella Maris lagoon straight from New York’s Queens district. These American legends have profoundly influenced the global popularisation of hip hop culture, along with their many collaborators, such as Wu-Tang Clan, Snoop Dogg, and Cypress Hill.

The legendary American rappers will be joined at the Sea Star Tesla Main Stage by regional hip hop pioneers — Stole, Smoke Mardeljano, and Phat Phillie. This will boost the already impressive line-up, including Amelie Lens, Dubioza Kolektiv, Meduza, Konstrakta, KALUSH Orchestra, Topic, Senidah, Vojko V, Buč Kesidi, and many others, and create a scorching summer atmosphere in Umag from 26th to 28th May. However, fans will have to wait until July 7th to see Iggy Azalea at her Novi Sad show.

The weather forecast for Sea Star predicts air temperatures of up to 30 degrees Celsius, with the sea already warm enough for swimming. A surprise warm-up party will occur on Thursday, May 26th, at 8 p.m. on the Electric Waves stage.

The legendary hip-hop group Onyx’s debut album, the mythical 1993 release, “Bacdafucup,” won a platinum record and the title of Best Rap Album at the prestigious Soul Train Music Awards (1994). The influential The Source included that same release among the best albums of all time. They were launched to the stars by the massive single “Slam,” which introduced “slam” dancing into hip-hop culture. Throughout the three-decade-long career, they have released 11 studio albums, of which “#WakeDaFucUp” from 2014 reached XXL magazine’s Best Album list, while they have released not one but two records since the beginning of this year (“1993” and “Onyx Versus Everybody”).

They have collaborated with countless big rap names such as the Wu-Tang Clan, Snoop Dogg, DMX, and even Biohazard on the cult album “Judgement Night. “ One of the band’s leaders, MC Sticky Fingaz, was discovered by the great Jam Master Jay from RUN D.M.C. Over the years, he has built an enviable acting career by appearing in more than 80 films and series, including the cult drama “The Wire.” At the beginning of this month, Onyx performed in the big Friday Night Music Battle with Cypress Hill, demonstrating their fantastic rap skills and the raw energy of the live performance they will bring to Umag on Friday, May 27th.

Fans will have to wait for a meeting with Iggy Azalea until July 7th and her performance at the Petrovaradin Fortress on the first day of the EXIT Festival. “I am very sorry that I had to cancel my trip to the Sea Star Festival due to unforeseen circumstances. I’ve heard so many beautiful things about the festival and its fantastic location. I am grateful to the EXIT team for rewarding you with tickets for my performance at the EXIT Festival. We will make up for everything in Novi Sad — I really hope to see all of you there! “ – said the Australian artist.

Aside from the new names in the line-up, the organisers of Sea Star have made an effort to provide the Umag audience with tickets for the first day of the EXIT festival when Iggy Azalea will perform. Buyers of one-day tickets for the first day of Sea Star (Friday, May 27th) should keep their tickets, while two-day festival ticket buyers, meaning festival wristband holders should keep their plastic tags. Using the information contained on the ticket or tag, along with their name, users should contact us at [email protected] no later than 25. June and they will get a one-day ticket for EXIT 2022 day 1, Thursday July 7.
