Global music giants The Prodigy are coming to fifth, jubilee Sea Star! The Umag festival will host the most influential electro-punk band of all time on its main stage in the Stella Maris lagoon and energetically kick off the new festival and tourist season on 19th and 20th May 2023. With this, Sea Star has put its name on the schedule of one of the most sought-after global tours in 2023, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with world’s leading festival giants such as EXIT, Mad Cool, Nova Rock and many others. Tickets for Sea Star go on sale on Thursday, 15th December, at noon for the price of 35 Eur + b/f. That price will be vaild until 22nd December.

This band has been the leading cause of the global electronic music frenzy for decades, and songs like “Firestarter,” “Breathe,” “Smack My Bitch Up,” “Voodoo People,” “No Good (Start The Dance),” and many others have shaped music history and an entire genre, but have also been integral to the upbringing of generations around the world. The Prodigy also has a special connection to our region. They were the first Sea Star headliner; they really wanted to include the Umag festival in the new tour, while their relationship with the EXIT festival is one of the greatest musical stories of our time. They will bring their concert spectacle and inexhaustible energy to the biggest stages as part of their 2023 world tour, which they announced with the following slogan: “Get ready for the new wave of fire!!!

“When we started Sea Star in 2017, the plan was to establish it, within 5 years, as one of the most important festivals of our region, and we invited The Prodigy to help us launch it. Circumstances wanted the fifth, jubilee edition to come on the seventh summer, but that’s why the first headliners are exactly what all the big festivals of the world would like to see on their line-up. Prodigy could choose and chose Sea Star, showing that our mission was successful, but also that the ties with the EXIT team are strong and eternal,” said Sanjin Đukić, director of Sea Star.

The Prodigy and the Sea Star festival already made history together; in 2017, the band caused an absolute frenzy at the festival’s first edition and put Umag on the European festival map. The band’s members called that performance one of the best on their tour at the time, and even today, it belongs to the very best Sea Star shows in history. The band is still led by the founder, author of most of the songs, one of the most creative musicians of our time and creator of the electronic punk genre, Liam Howlett. By his side is still Maxim, a powerful MC and one of the most charismatic frontmans of the entire music scene.

The magical environment of Umag’s Stella Maris lagoon will once again become the central location for the launch of the new festival season. At the fourth edition of Sea Star last May, this place was the centre of the first big festival in Croatia after a two-and-a-half-year break. The Umag event, organized by the EXIT team, was visited by more than 40,000 people and perfectly launched the music and tourist season. The Sea Star Festival recently became the only Croatian music event nominated at the prestigious European Festival Awards in the “Best Medium-Sized Festival” category.

The first contingent of festival tickets at a price of only 35 Eur + b/f are on sale here. That price will be vaild until 22nd December.
